Im a pretty handy guy recently because a HD mechanic and man sometimes i feel dumb. Its not a good feeling, my journeyman usually says its just not knowing your not dumb. Never lets me struggle for long before shooting me tips or showing me. But i hate when he does it for me

If that method (shown at end) doesnt work, hook the claw on the nail and pull away until the hammer comes under tension, then use your palm (glove recommended) to smack the handle. I've ripped 3" screws out of 2x4's that were too good condition to call "old".

I’m honestly shocked a human that age and that size would have trouble removing 2 nails like that. Easy type of nails to pull, good hammer, and nails also not dug into the board very far at all! That should be easy 2 seconds of work. That being said, props to dude for being out there working anyway, gotta learn somehow, and trying things even though you don’t know how is the best way. Props to the guy for showing him how to do it too

You can also do it sideways, we do this for pinched nails in concrete. Should work 100% of the time 75% of the time with wood. Also works for nails with stripped heads with a little time & practice.

I was an apprentice once, and quickly learned that not all nails are easy to pull. In this case the nails are annular grooved. I remember when I first started, I used to do the same thing. If you have a good boss. he will explain a better and more efficient way to remove nails.

Rotate the hammer 90 degrees. You can pull a headless nail with that technique. You’re welcome

Like how he actually thought him a lot of people just watch you fail while making fun of you. However I’ve never seen a set of kids that aren’t good with physical manual labor than this last gen. Idk what gen it is but Im about to retire and I’ve thought many people in my field. But this last gen is the one that doesn’t even know how to use their own hands. It’s only getting worse and worse! 🤣 props to the teachers and the ones who want to learn!
